The FIA Formula 2 Championship has confirmed two new venues for the 2026 season to replace the cancelled events in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
F2 will visit the Miami International Autodrome at the start of May (1st – 3rd), marking the series’ first event in America, and in North America. A second will follow at the end of May (22nd – 24th) in Montreal, Canada.
The move comes after the races in Sakhir and Jeddah were called off in March due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East after the opening round in Australia.
It keeps the 2026 calendar at 14 rounds, when it had dropped to 12.
Campos Racing’s Nikola Tsolov currently leads the Championship after winning the Feature Race in Melbourne.

Bruno Michel, FIA Formula 2 CEO, said: “Bringing F2 to North America for the first time is really fantastic. It’s something we have been wanting to do for a long time, and it enables us to ensure we’re back racing as quickly as possible.
“We always love to race in Sakhir and Jeddah, and we wish them well and look forward to returning to both as soon as circumstances allow.”
He praised the efforts of his team, the promoters in Miami and Canada and the FIA for their hard and fast work to get plans in place for the two trips across the Atlantic.
Michel added: “It will be a great new challenge for our teams and our drivers, who have all welcomed the news with enthusiasm. I am certain that the quality of racing will bring a lot of excitement to the fans and to everyone attending both Grands Prix.”
Formula 1 President & CEO, Stefano Domenicali said it’s “great news” for fans, drivers and teams, while FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem said it’s an important step forward in boosting F2’s reach.
He said: “Bringing the championship to North America via Miami and Montreal for the first time marks an important step in its continued global growth, strengthening the pathway alongside Formula One and connecting with new audiences.”
