Oscar Piastri completed three days of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona. The PREMA Racing and Alpine Acadamy driver got plenty of mileage under his belt as he embarks on Round 2 of the FIA Formula 2 season.
The Australian driver took a maiden win in the first round but will still be keen to learn this new series and build on that for the rest of the season.
On his first day, the Alpine Acadamy driver posted a 1:30.425 and 1:31.350, which saw him in the middle of the timesheets.
“It was a bit of an up-and-down test which started quite down I would say, but we had a very successful last day.”
That result on the final morning session was 1:28.105 and only bettered by the overall fastest lap of the weekend.
“We tested quite a lot of things. Some worked, some didn’t, but I’m happy that we found a good solution and we seem quick. It’s positive we made the most of this last chance we had to test for this season.”
Oscar will hope to take that pace and the form he showed in Bahrain onto the next race.
We can not wait to see everyone back on track in the famed Principality on the 21st and 22nd of May.
