Our InsideF2.com Rating
4/5
This book tells the brilliant story of 7 time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher. Written by ex-F1 ITV commentator James Allen the story of Schumacher is told magnificently covering all of the stunning highs and controversial lows of the German’s first F1 career from 1991-2006. The Edge of Greatness uncovers all the great Schumacher stories whether it be his fierce battles with Ayrton Senna and Mika Hakkinen on and off the track or his brief spell playing professional football in Switzerland. In my opinion, the best moments of the book were the opening chapters particularly the first. The story being told is of Michael’s controversial incident in qualifying for the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix. The rest of the book is equally gripping and features insight from key figures in Michael’s career such as Flavio Briatore, Max Mosley, and Martin Brundle. It’s a must-read for Formula 1 fans, I highly recommend it.
