Kimi Räikkönen has always been a character of mystery and very few words but his speed and achievements on track have etched him into motorsport’s history as one of the best.
Surprisingly this book helps the reader get to know the man under the helmet and understand why Kimi is Kimi. The book takes a journey through his career and is mostly written based on conversations between Kimi and the author at Kimi’s home and focuses more on the person rather than the sport.
There is a fascinating section covers Kimi’s early years and how he had to leave home as a young boy, discussing the contacts he made along the way and the promise shown as a young driver. This race craft and skill would ultimately get him all the way to F1.
There are also plenty of unexpected funny stories to help you understand his humor and why he is a man of such few words. It also covers the importance of family to him, in his later career it highlights both his racing and family life.
This is a well written book, which gives you more insight into the private life of Kimi and is definitely an enjoyable read.
