Bearman to Step up for Sainz in Formula 1

PREMA’s Oliver Bearman will miss the remainder of FIA Formula 2’s second round in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as he is confirmed as replacement for Carlos Sainz in Formula 1.

The Ferrari Academy Driver had gained pole position in Jeddah for the Feature Race will now relinquish this to position as Carlos Sainz is hospitalised with a suspected appendicitis.

Carlos Sainz has been diagnosed with appendicitis and will require surgery.
As from FP3 and for the rest of this weekend, he will be replaced by reserve driver Oliver Bearman. Oliver will therefore take no further part in this round of the F2 Championship.

This is a huge opportunity for Bearman as he aims to deliver results in Formula 2 this year and make the step up to Formula 1 in 2025.
