Following a scoreless Saturday FIA Formula 2 Sprint Race, Ralph Boschung brought points home after a comeback weekend in Baku after missing out in Monaco and Barcelona following a neck injury.Â
The Swiss driver finished in 9th place in the Feature Race after a clever strategy to pit on Lap 18 when the race director deployed the Safety Car, which allowed Boschung to overtake other cars easily.Â
The Campos racer shared his optimistic views about his outcome in the Feature Race: “Overall, it’s been a good weekend, and I’m delighted to return after my recent injury.
“The circuit in Baku is great fun to drive, it’s one where you can make mistakes easily.”Â
Boschung also praised the strategy used by his team to improve their result, saying, “We decided to try something different during the Feature Race and pit under the first Safety Car, hoping we could get to the end on the alternate strategy. The gamble paid off in the final few laps.”Â
Preparing for the next round in Silverstone, Boschung expressed excitement about this occasion: “I’m looking forward to returning to Silverstone and I’ll be aiming to score more points.”
Boschung sits in 13th place in the drivers’ championship standings, with 34 points to his name.Â
Having missed the Barcelona and Monaco rounds, which affected his points in the championship, the Swiss driver seems optimistic about his 2022 potential and will return to action at Silverstone in early July.
