British F4 champion Alex Dunne will step up to GB3 with Hitech Grand Prix.
The Irish driver dominated in British F4 taking a record-breaking eleven wins, eclipsing Jaime Caroline and Zane Maloney’s record of 10 victories.
Dunne also competed in Italian F4 this season, he took two triumphs on his way to second in the championship behind Kimi Antonelli.
Dunne said: “I’m very happy to continue with Hitech in GB3 for 2023. We had an incredible year together winning British F4 and breaking the record for the most wins in a season.
“I’ve really enjoyed working with Hitech so I look forward to achieving more great things together.”
Phil Blow, Hitech’s GB3 Team Manager is delighted to welcome the 17-year-old to their GB3 outfit.
”We’re excited for Alex to join us in the GB3 Championship after an impressive campaign in British F4 this year.
“We tested with him at Snetterton a few weeks ago and he made steady progress throughout the day – he went nearly a second quicker than the pole time for that year! “
“We’re looking forward to seeing him progress as he makes the step up to GB3.”
The Silverstone-based team will be looking to repeat their peerless 2022 GB3 season next year, as they strive for another team’s and driver’s championship double.
The 2023 GB3 Championship will commence at Oulton Park on the 8-10 April, kicking off an eight-round campaign which includes a first-ever trip to Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
