Michael Shin will graduate from British F4 to join Hitech in GB3.

The South Korean undertook his first season in cars last year and took a victory at Brands Hatch Indy on his way to P11 in the standings.

Shin will join British F4 champion Alex Dunne and Red Bull Junior Souta Arao at the British team in a formidable lineup.

Shin said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Hitech GP for the 2023 GB3 Championship. Last year, they were very strong, winning both the teams’ and the drivers’ titles.

“I believe that will be a great environment for me to learn and improve as the season progresses.

“GB3 provides an excellent path up the racing ladder, with additional seat time, fully reverse grid races, and races at three different Grand Prix venues. We’ve got an exciting new year ahead of us, and I can’t wait to get started!”

The 18-year-old tested Hitech’s GB3 car at Silverstone recently ahead of the season opener in April at Oulton Park.

Shin also participated in the FIA Motorsport games last year and raced in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship, scoring a podium finish.

Hitech’s GB3 Team Manager Phil Blow said: “We’re really pleased for Michael to be joining our team.

“He drove exceptionally well in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship and made great progress in the car.

“His pace during the GB3 tests leaves us feeling confident that we will have a strong season together and can fight for some good results.”

The 10-round GB3 campaign gets underway on the 8-10 of April at Oulton Park and includes trips to three Formula 1 venue in Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps and Zandvoort. is your home for Formula 2
