GB3 champion Luke Browning will make the step up to FIA F3 with Hitech Pulse-Eight.
The 21-year-old joins Sébastian Montoya and Gabriele Mini at the British team.
Browning enjoyed a successful 2022 winning the GB3 title taking five wins as well as winning the BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award, earning a test in an Aston Martin F1 car.
The British driver is delighted to be staying with Hitech to race in FIA F3.
“I’m excited to announce I’ll be taking the step up to FIA Formula 3 with Hitech. We had a fantastic season in GB3 last year. These past 12 months I have really developed as a driver with their guidance and professionalism,” said Browning.
The Hitech driver is aware of the highly competitive 30-car field in FIA F3 but is positive about scoring good results early on.
“I am very thankful to the people who continuously believe in me and have made this possible. I am under no illusions how competitive FIA F3 is and stepping into the car for the first time in February will be a steep learning curve before we head to Bahrain. I feel confident with everyone at Hitech that I can hit the ground running!”
Browning will be racing against an old rival in Williams Academy member, Zak O’Sullivan, who will be driving for PREMA. Browning usurped the PREMA driver in their battle for the British F4 title.
Team Principal, Oliver Oakes added that he was confident Browning would be able to replicate his form from GB3 in 2023.
“We are delighted to welcome Luke to our team in FIA Formula 3. We had a fantastic year with him in GB3, securing the driver’s title with five wins, and we are confident his experience will be of great value to the team.”
The 2023 season will be Browning’s first season outside the UK since his German F4 campaign in 2021 where he finished third in the championship.
The season kicks off this weekend at the Bahrain International Circuit on the 3-5 of March.
