Campos Racing will be looking to improve their results in the second round of the season where the Valencian based team hope to put a difficult start behind them.

Campos’s struggles were mostly because lead driver Jack Aitken had his qualifying lap spoiled by yellow flags at the end of the session, placing the Brit on the seventh row of the grid.

Aitken failed to move up the order in the Feature Race, eventually finishing in 15th place courtesy of a stop-go penalty, but made amends after snatching a point in the Sprint Race by passing Callum IIott late in the race.

With his upcoming debut for Williams in the Formula 1 Free Practice session, Aitken is hoping that he can get a good haul of points to reboot his F2 drivers’ championship hopes.

After last weekend, we were working hard trying to understand everything after Round 1. It wasn’t a perfect start for us but we are looking forward to racing again in such special times and we expect to have another chance and get some good points and results.

Aitken’s teammate Guilherme Samaia is hoping that Round 2 of the season can see him develop his skills further in an F2 car after a quiet maiden race weekend that saw him come home 15th in the Feature Race and 16th in the Sprint Race.

The Brazilian is hoping that what he learned in Round 1 comes to help him in the second round of the season.

I’m just looking forward to getting back on track again. I want to put out there everything we learnt from the first weekend of racing. For sure, we are going to be stronger than we were a few days ago. I’m aiming at checking how well we can perform and develop this weekend.

Team principal Adrian Campos is hoping that his team can put everything together after a successful first weekend back.

We are pleased with the season finally kicking off last weekend and everything went according to our plan. Of course, on the racing side we expect everything will further improve with another week of work at the Red Bull Ring. We have just got to keep on putting everything together from our side.
