Jamie Chadwick leaves her home race in Great Britain with a 47 point lead over fellow Brit, Abbi Pulling, after taking another win.
Chadwick started the weekend by taking pole position in Friday’s qualifying session. Behind her on the grid was Emma Kimiläinen, she was out- qualified by two tenths of a second to the pole-sitter.
On Saturday, Alice Powell stalled on the formation lap but was able to eventually get going and start the race. However, she was given a 10 second second stop and go penalty for being out of position at the first safety car line before lights out. Disappointment for Powell on home soil as she was due to start the race from fifth place.
Chadwick had the better start out of the front row starters and led the pack going into Abbey. She quickly cleared those behind her as Kimiläinen and Pulling were closely matched.
Marta García and Belen García came together which resulted in front wing damage for Marta. She was forced to pit and therefore finished in 18th and last position.
Pulling and Kimiläinen also made contact on the penultimate lap going into the Vale Chicane. Both were able to continue in second and third and finished without penalty.
Pulling slowed in the final sector on the last lap of the race with an issue and did well to cross the line only four tenths of a second to fourth place, Fabienne Wohlwend.
