GB3 driver McKenzy Cresswell will step to FIA F3 and replace Piotr Wisnicki at PHM Racing by Charouz for the upcoming rounds at Red Bull Ring and Silverstone.
The 17-year-old has raced in GB3 for the past couple of years, scoring two podiums and sits 7th in the championship ahead of both his team mates at Elite Motorsport.
Cresswell has already driven at Silverstone this year, in a rain-affected weekend, driving to second place.
He is hoping to get up to speed quickly in his new machinery which has much more power than the GB3 car.
“It’s been whirlwind few days, having learned of this opportunity at the end of last week. Big thanks to Roland Rehfeld at PHM and Tony Shaw, my GB3 engineer, for making this happen.
“I will try my best to adapt quickly and get the best results possible. Red Bull Ring will be an exciting challenge. It’s a new car and new circuit for me.
“The following weekend we will be back on home turf alongside the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.”
Cresswell will join German driver Sophia Flörsch and Brazilian Roberto Faria, who he raced in GB3 last year.
