Jehan Daruvala is eagerly anticipating driving at Circuit De Barcelona-Catalunya in FIA Formula 2 and says “As a team, we’re as prepared as we can be.”
The MP Motorsport driver sits ninth in the championship and scored second place last time out at Monaco in the Sprint Race.
Daruvala was quick in testing in Spain earlier this year and said: “I think testing was pretty strong here. “We also tested a lot of things throughout the three days so as a team we’re as prepared as we can be.
“Normally I go quite well around Barcelona and so do MP so I’m really looking forward to the weekend and hopefully we can score some more points than we have been in the last few rounds.”
The 24-year-old is undertaking his fourth year in Formula 2 and has endured a chequered history in Catalunya.
Daruvala is yet to stand on the podium on the 4.657km circuit and has a best finish of fourth place for PREMA in the Sprint Race last year.
Despite scoring a podium last time out in Monaco the MP Motorsport driver said that that circuit is so different to other venues that you can’t gain much from that result and testing at Catalunya will be much more relevant.
“Monaco’s a really unique track so it was good to get a podium but in the end you can’t really take much from Monaco to many other tracks so I think the most relevancy was testing and I would say it was pretty strong.”
