Daruvala Top in Day Two
Jehan Daruvala continued his excellent form into day two of testing with the Indian going fastest for Carlin.
The Red Bull junior set the fastest lap of the overall session with a time of 1.41.686 in the afternoon session just under two tenths quicker then Prema’s Robert Shwartzman and a further four-tenths ahead of Carlin teammate Dan Ticktum.
Just outside the top three was debutant, Liam Lawson, for Hitech with countryman Marcus Armstrong and Felipe Drugovich rounding off the top six.
Louis Deletraz was seventh for MP Motorsport ahead of Charouz drivers David Beckmann and Guilherme Samaia with Clement Novalak, Logan Sargent and Guanyu Zhou.
Ralph Boschung and Juri Vips were thirteenth and fourteenth with Formula 3 champion Oscar Piastri fifteenth ahead of Marino Sato who completed the most laps in the session with fifty three, Roy Nissany, Christian Lundgaard and Lirim Zendeli with Matteo Nannini, Theo Pourchaire and Roberto Merhi.
There were two stoppages to the session with Nannini stopping at turn 8 whilst Pourchaire stacked his ART into the barrier at the same corner.
Boschung set the early pace in the morning session with a time of 1.42.244 ahead of Daruvala and Lawson with Vips and Lundgaard rounding off the top five of the morning session.
Drugovich was sixth fastest ahead of Armstrong Ticktum, Nissany and Sato with Sargent, Pourchaire, Novalak, and Beckmann following in behind.
Deletraz was fifteenth ahead of Samaia, Nannini and Zendeli with Merhi ahead of Zhou who could only manage twentieth despite completing fifty-three laps with the Prema drivers of Piastri and Shwartzman rounding off the timesheets.
