FIA Formula 2 completed its pre-season test in Sakhir, Bahrain in what was a weather affected day.

It was Felipe Drugovich that was the fastest for MP Motorsport in the morning session. An afternoon sandstorm pulled the plug on the week’s testing as it caused the cancellation of the day’s track action.

The Brazilian driver Drugovich will be happy to end his week on top of the timesheets with a 1:44.911, as he looks to push on from last year’s championship in his MP Motorsport car. His rookie teammate Clément Novalak was second with 1:45.883, ahead of a 1:45.978 from Hitech Grand Prix’s Jüri Vips.

The session was a continuation of yesterday’s long-run pace, most drivers clocked up +40 laps today. ART’s Théo Pourchaire racked up an impressive 56 laps overall finishing with a 1:47.235 as his fastest lap late on.

Carlin’s Lawson and Vips both finished in the 1:46’s with 89 laps for the team in total.

Roy Nissany of DAMS and PREMA’s Dennis Hauger were sixth and seventh while being in that 1:46 pack.

Only one major stoppage today as Ayumu Iwasa pulled up to a stop at Turn 8 to bring out a Red Flag.
