Fittipaldi ‘Happy’ With Result Due to Lack of Track Time

Enzo Fittipaldi qualified 13th overall in today’s session but remains ‘happy’ with himself since he has less experience of the track than many others on the grid.

Today’s session was extremely close (as you are about to read from Enzo) which meant that any extra edge a driver had, including experience, proved to be very valuable.

“Coming into this weekend, I knew it was going to be hard because I had never driven in Abu Dhabi before so today was my first taste of the track. I learnt it very fast and yeah, qualifying was extremely tight, we were only three and a half tenths off pole and we finished 13th. I think a tenth would’ve put me P7 or something so it was really close. It’s unfortunate, obviously, because I would love to be further up the field and I know we could’ve been. At the end of the day, I’m happy with my result today having never driven Abu Dhabi, I think I did a good job.”

This weekend he will be hoping to score some good points to help him in his campaign as highest placed rookie in the standings. That title currently belongs to Logan Sargeant, who is only nine points ahead of Fittipaldi.
