Enzo Fittipaldi secured his first FIA Formula 2 podium of the season with Rodin Carlin at this weekend’s round at Azerbaijan.
Understandably, the young Brazilian driver was over the moon with his performance this weekend after a tricky start to the season.
“It was a very good weekend for me, we qualified second, very close to the pole, only 12 hundredths from Bearman. I was a bit frustrated that we didn’t get the pole but I know that is yet to come.”
“We had a good Sprint Race yesterday, I finished fifth. The pace wasn’t great so we made some changes overnight and came into the Feature Race today, we were starting second.”
“Had a decent start, our pace the whole race today was really good and we finished P2. I think that if there were four or five more laps we could have passed the leader, we were really fast.”
“So very happy about the weekend, scored very good points. After having a really difficult weekend in Melbourne it is great to have a really good one and I am very much looking forward to carrying on in Imola.”
Hopefully for Fittipaldi and Carlin, the results from Baku will provide great momentum ahead of a Summer of races as Formula 2 heads to Europe, starting in Imola later in the month.
