Four drivers have picked up penalties for incidents during the Sprint Race, including third placed Clément Novalak.
Kush Maini, who finished 12th in the Sprint Race was awarded a drive-through penalty for forcing Enzo Fittipaldi off the track. The move was considered to be dangerous, hence the severity of the penalty which was converted into a 20 seconds.
Fittipaldi was also penalised for an incident with Maini in which the two drivers came together at Turn 3. He will receive a 3 place grid drop at the next race.
Maini’s teammate at Campos, Ralph Boschung, was given a 10 second time penalty for also pushing Amaury Cordeel off the circuit during their battle for position.
Finally and significantly, Novalak was disqualified from the classifications for breaching the technical regulations. During scrutineering, it was noted that the Trident driver’s tyre pressures were too low according to the required limit.
Novalak had a great race, where he went from 20th on the grid to finish in the final podium position, holding off Isack Hadjar who will now gain third following the disqualification .
