Trident Motorsport is highly respected in the junior series. Maurizio Salvadori founded the team in 2006 and brought his passion for motorsport and experience in the entertainment industry with him. Now, Trident has become a ground for young drivers transitioning between racing categories.
The team competes in the Formula 2, Formula 3, and Formula Regional Championships, starting in GP2 in 2006 and continuing into Formula 2 in 2017. The team focuses mainly on gradual improvements in technical performance and driver development.
In the 2025 season, Trident employed Sami Meguetounif and Max Esterson who are both rookies from France and the United States respectively.
The Drivers
Meguetounif is a 20-year-old from Marseille, France. He was a part of the Trident Formula 3 team before moving up to Formula 2 under the same team in 2025.
Meguetounif is known for his aggressive driving style which caused onlookers to be impressed with his skill, determination, and ambition. This drive has set high expectations for his performance this season since he has been consistently fighting for positions.
His technical abilities along with his racing style sets him up for an interesting season, so watch out for Meguetounif!
Coming from New York, New York, this 22-year-old is the second American on the grid. Esterson is an exciting driver to watch this upcoming season.
Having started his career on racing simulators and not touching an actual kart until the age of 16, he has the advantage of knowing different racing tracks from an early age.
Esterson has also been able to challenge some of the best drivers in his time in Formula 3 in 2023 and 2024. His demonstrated ability to constantly adapt, challenge, and improve made him a good fit for Trident.
Looking Ahead
With Meguetounif and Esterson on the 2025 roster for Trident, we are in for an interesting season. Both drivers have a sense of unparalleled ambition and determination in their driving and align with Trident’s mission of developing young drivers perfectly.
As the new season is getting ready to get underway, Trident’s objective is to surpass their previous goals to continue to grow as an unstoppable force in the Formula 2 championship.
With two very promising drivers, Trident will undoubtedly aim for podium finishes and fights. They will, also, look to challenge for race victories throughout the season.
