Ghiotto shows his experience in qualifying Ghiotto - FIA Formula 2 News

Hitech’s Luca Ghiotto showed his experience to put his car at the front row for Sunday’s Formula 2 race in Hungary. The Italian driver has been unfortunate in the last couple of races but what has never been in doubt is his ability and pace.

Ghiotto has become accustomed to the sharp end in recent years. He showed his competitive spirit when he reflected on what is a great result for him: “A little bit frustrated as we would have liked to get P1, I think we had the pace to do it, but with these conditions its always a bet so its still a good result”

The Italian will be hoping for a dry race at the Hungaroring. The track is tough to overtake on so a good start could be crucial.

The British team have plenty of experience in the support championships. However, they knew this season would be one they needed to adapt and learn quickly. It’s been a tough start, with the team scoring just one point so far.

Ghiotto was happy with the teams efforts to give him a chance of a positive result this weekend. He added: “Its a big improvement after last weeks race in the wet. We have made a big step forward on the car and I’m super happy about that”

Now the driver and team will be looking forward to what could prove a great weekend. “Lets see how tomorrow is and if it’s wet or dry first of all, and let’s try finally to get some points,” Ghiotto concluded.
