Hauger Feeling ‘good’ after fifth place qualifying

Dennis Hauger has admitted his happiness with his fifth-place qualifying at the third round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship.

Hauger, who has struggled in the first two rounds, handled the wet and tricky conditions at Imola well, pulling off a late flying lap to secure his position in the feature race.

Speaking after the qualifying session, Hauger praised his improvement throughout the day and session:

“It feels really good to get that step up in terms of results. It felt better to nail the lap and it’s a decent position to start in the races this weekend.

“In the end, I can’t complain especially after set one, when the situation looked quite dark, and we made a good improvement to get up to P5.”

Despite his praise for Qualifying, the Norwegian expressed his caution ahead of the Sprint Race on Saturday, as he expects the conditions to change:

“We just have to keep our heads cool, it’s probably going to be dry tomorrow, it’s going to be the first run for everyone in those conditions and it will be interesting to see how it goes.”

The Norwegian will be aiming to capitalise in both races with a solid top ten starting position in both. He will be wanting to have a chance to climb up the standings, currently sitting in 12th

Hauger will line up in sixth in the sprint race on Saturday, placing him in a suitable position to aim for his first Sprint Race points or even podium of the season.
