Hitech TGR finds itself in the thick of both FIA Formula 2 championship fights ahead of the tenth round of the season.
The Silverstone-based team has yet to win a race in 2025, but drivers Luke Browning and Dino Beganovic have scored eight podiums between them.
Browning’s consistency has him just 12 points off Invicta’s Leonardo Fornaroli, who took the Drivers Championship lead at the previous round in Belgium.
His efforts, along with those of Sweden’s Beganovic, have earnt Hitech 163 points, with the team sat third in the Teams standings, six points behind Campos Racing in second.
“Luke and Dino have been performing really well in the last few rounds, and their succession of double points finishes have helped propel the team back up the order in the Teams’ Standings,” said Team Manager, Clive Hatton.
Hatton insisted the team has been working hard since the previous round in Spa, where Browning clinched a podium finish after Arvid Lindblad was disqualified and original race winner Alex Dunne received a post-race penalty.
He says it’s been all about ensuring the recent momentum is carried into Hungary for the next round.
“The target is to continue closing the gap in both Championships before the whole team enjoys a well-deserved summer break,” Hatton said.
The team has a mixed record in Budapest, having scored podiums in 2020 with Nikita Mazepin and in 2022 with Juri Vips.
Current Alpine reserve driver, Paul Aron, scored pole position at the Hungaroring in 2024, but lost the lead at the start, before retiring after colliding with Rodin driver Zane Maloney in the Feature Race.
