Hitech GP will be hoping that good fortunes come their way at Silverstone.
The British team took their maiden Formula 2 win when Luca Ghiotto claimed victory in the sprint race at the Hungaroring two weeks ago and will be hoping for more of the same this weekend.
The Italian driver used strategy in the sprint race in Budapest to take the win as one of only two drivers who decided not to pit for new tyres to claim the victory. He will, however, be hoping for a better strategy in the feature race during the first of two rounds at the classic Silverstone circuit.
Ghiotto said: “I am super ready for the weekend following on from my race win in Budapest. Silverstone is a great track, and I won here last year, so I am hoping to repeat that. That being said, it will, of course, be a challenge to see how the new 18-inch Pirelli’s fair around Silverstone, but hopefully we can be up there on the podium once again!”
Nikita Mazepin also claimed his first podium for the Hitech team in Budapest during the feature race despite starting the race down in 16th. He will be hoping to take one step up on the podium at the team’s home track to claim a victory.
Nikita Mazepin said: “We had good progress in Budapest with the team performing strongly in all sessions, so I’m confident that we will continue to improve and I’m sure that we will deliver a good result in both races. It’s the team’s home race, so I will be pushing to the max!”
Hitech has hopes for another great weekend in the first of two rounds at Silverstone and will want to add more silverware to their collection this weekend.
