In-form Tsunoda Looking forward to Monza
Monza and Round 8 of The Formula 2 Championship await for an in-form Yuki Tsunoda.
The 20-year-old Japanese driver has been one of the stars of 2020 with his aggressive style and pure race pace.
From the very opening round of the 2020 season the Honda Formula Dream Project and Red Bull Junior driver has been lighting up the timing screens.
Despite a few bumps along the way he finds himself right in the mix for not only a Formula 2 Championship push but also a Formula 1 drive in 2021 if the complementary words from the big paddock is to be believed.
Tsunoda’s season so far see’s him hold 111 points after fourteen races of the twenty-four in total. This means that despite a great start and mid part of the season he needs to continue his form to remain with the top two Shwartzman and Ilott.
Getting himself a race win in last week’s Feature Race in Spa will have given him confidence ahead of a track in Italy that his has prior with.
“I like the track, the Qualifying will be important and we need to be flexible as track position is very important there.”
“I have good memories from Monza last year, it was my first win in Formula 3 so I am really looking forward to it. I will take what I learnt at Spa and make sure I have a more consistent race,”
Can the in-form Tsunoda really get in the mix for this year’s championship battle?
