With Abu Dhabi seemingly being the DAMS drivers last weekend in the F2 championship, Jak Crawford, expressed his hopefulness of a Formula One seat in the coming years, however also indicated that if the opportunity was right, he would consider other racing series, such as Formula E, despite turning the opportunity down earlier on in the year.

Crawford is due to step into the Aston Martin for this weekends FP1 session, alongside F2 driver Cian Shields, creating a full rookie line-up for the final FP1 session of the year, his second of the 2025 season to further build his relationship with the team who have signed him as a reserve driver for the 2026 season.

Despite Crawford filling the role of the third driver for Aston Martin, he is out of a Formula 2 race seat and has no permanent seat for next year. Regardless of this, Jak expressed how his sights were still set on Formula One, and he is “not currently looking to get into Formula E ” in spite of drivers such as Pepe Marti following this route.

However, he did indicate that if the opportunity to drive an F1 season did not arise, he is still open minded about the all electric racing series, going onto describing the series as “very interesting” with a secure ,”good future” due to the constant “changing car that is always developing”, which keeps the series fresh with different challenges.

The first of the on track action for our final round of the 2025 season will begin at 11:05 local time with the free practice session on Friday.
