Jak Crawford “Sees Improvement” After Silverstone Qualfiying

After a mixed season so far, Jak Crawford has claimed third place in Qualifying at Silverstone this weekend. The DAMS driver was consistently fighting at the top throughout the session, but missed out on pole by 0.24 seconds. He will start the race on Sunday behind Victor Martins and Alex Dunne.

When asked how satisfied he was with not only his performance but the car beneath him, Crawford said:

“Yeah definitely. Coming off the triple header where we didn’t have great qualifying, still in the top 10, but not great Qualifying, and as well as last week in Austria, which was outside the top 10 in P14, it’s definitely great to be back in the top three.

“That was kind of my aim and we knew it would be a track that would suit our car so yeah, happy to be back in the top three and we know we’re always good in the race.”

Qualifying had been the session where the American driver had previously struggled, with this being his third time starting in the top three drivers despite having two race wins and two podiums on his 2025 record.

“Just struggled to find a consistent way I think. You know, we find every weekend quite different and always different challenges.

“Of course, I mean it is the same for everyone but you know, we seem to already last year with the team, seem to struggle a bit more with consistency and this year has been a lot better, but it hasn’t been consistently at the front, it’s been kind of consistently in the top 10.

“So yeah, I think we’re improving. I think Red Bull Ring was a tough one because we had the potential to be quick there but just missed it.

“I think the car is going to be good here in the race. The race is not what I was worried about, it was more about the Qualifying and qualifying well so now that we’ve done that, I feel good that we can have a good result on Sunday.”

Going forward, Jak Crawford will be looking to chase the cars ahead of him to be amongst the fight for a podium and potentially a win. Currently sitting in third in the drivers’ standings, the American will want to bring the car across the line in the highest position possible to make a run for the championship.
