In F2 news, Indian driver Jehan Daruvala has been announced by Carlin Motorsport and previously announced Yuki Tsonoda’s teammate for the 2020 FIA Formula 2 World Championship.
Daruvala from Mumbai, India started karting in 2011 and got his big break in a junior initiative organised by Sahara Force India Formula One Team and Mobil 1 called “One in a Billion hunt” to find the next Indian motorsport stars.
He has won junior titles in karting in both Europe and Asia which led to him getting opportunities in Formula Renault 2.0 and European Formula 3 respectively.
In 2019 Daruvala raced sixteen times with two wins and one pole to finish 3rd in the 2019 FIA Formula 3 Championship as Robert Shwartzman’s teammate at Prema.
Marcus Armstrong whom finished second in the championship behind Shwartzman is considered a hot prospect by many and Daruvala only finished one point behind him last season.
To top off what looks to be a promising 2020, The driver was also announced to haveÂ joined the Red Bull Junior Team for 2020.
As a member of the tremendously successful and experienced Carlin squad he will race alongside fellow Red Bull Junior Yuki Tsunoda. The F2 season starts in Sakhir, Barhain on March 20th-22nd and concludes with it’s 12th round at Yas Marina in the UAE in November.
