Bennett competed in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge in 2021 before switching to single seaters in GB3. The 19-year-old became Vice Champion after taking five race victories.
Bennett said: “I’m really excited to be joining Carlin for the upcoming 2023 GB3 season, they are one of the most prestigious teams in motorsport and their history of success within this championship, and many others, is undeniable.
“My goal for next year will be to win the championship – I am very confident that I will have everything at my disposal to be able to achieve this and I can’t wait to get racing again next year!
“In the meantime, we will be undergoing a strong winter testing programme to ensure that we are in the best possible position to hit the ground running at round one.”
Bennett has already tested with Carlin in multiple post-season test days as the Briton prepares for his second GB3 campaign. He has also visited the factory and used the Carlin simulator.
Team Principal Trevor Carlin added, “We are thrilled to welcome John to the team for the 2023 season. John had a strong 2022 season and it was great to see him pick up that podium in the final round – he has shown clear consistency and we have no doubt he can continue this momentum into next season.”
The Carlin driver will continue his pre-season preparations before the GB3 season begins on the 8-10 April at Oulton Park.
Next season’s calendar features eight rounds with an inaugural trip to Zandvoort hosting the penultimate round on the 13-15 October.
