ART’s Victor Martins has told InsideF2.com that he had no doubts he could return to the front of the FIA Formula 2 grid – despite a tough start to the 2024 season.Â
Speaking after dominantly winning the Sprint Race in Spain, the Frenchman said he always knew he was capable of putting in winning drives again.
“I showed in the past that I am able to win races and win championships,” the 2022 FIA Formula 3 champion said.

The 23-year-old said the support of his ART team had been a constant throughout his, and the teams, slow start in 2024.
“I always have the support from my team, we have a good relationship, an honest relationship,” Martins said.
He added that the team had been working ‘day and night’ to understand how to improve their performance on the track.
Martins said that there had been days where the car would feel better but his performances hadn’t been up to scratch – and other times where he had driven well, but the car performance had limited what could be achieved.
“It’s tricky and there are doubts, but you refer back to what you did in the past, you remember how you did it.
“I believe that what I did last year, I can do again,” he said.
Martins added that it is crucial to continue analysing the performances in order to deliver the best possible results on track.
