Michael Shin has joined Virtuosi Racing for the 2022 British F4 Championship.
The South Korean driver will partner Edward Pearson as the duo drive the new Tatuus T-421 during the 10 round season.
Shin has driven the all new FIA F4 car previously while contesting the Formula 4 UAE season.
The new car has been updated to include the halo and Pirelli tyres replacing the Hankook’s used last year alongside an Abarth engine.
Shin said: “I’m delighted to be joining Virtuosi Racing for the 2022 ROKiT British F4 season.
“They are such a high level team, and I find it so valuable to be able to learn and develop in that proper environment from early on in my career.
“We have made so much progress in the few days we have done so far and I am excited to keep the improvement going for the rest of the year.”
Virtuosi’s team boss Mark Salmon is pleased to have him as part of the team for the 2022 campaign.
Salmon said: “We are delighted to welcome Michael to Virtuosi Racing.
We have started very well in our test programme and I’m looking forward to working with Michael for the rest of the season.”
Shin will be driving amongst some top quality drivers in British F4 with three members of the grid already linked to Formula 1 teams.
The British F4 season begins on the 22-24th of April at Donington Park.
Drivers will take part in three races per weekend on the same package at the British Touring Car Championship.
This year’s calendar includes two visits to Thruxton in Hampshire and Scotland’s Knockhill in late July in a blockbuster campaign that plays host to thirty races this year.
British F4 caught up with the Virtuosi Racing driver at Brands Hatch to discuss the season ahead.
