Sebastián Montoya will join Hitech Grand Prix for his rookie FIA Formula 3 season.

The Red Bull Junior drove for Campos Racing at Zandvoort last year finishing in P8 in both races, Montoya also tested with Hitech in Jerez in the post-season test.

Montoya is eagerly anticipating the upcoming season and said: “We will all work together to have a great year and fight at the front consistently. 

“I just want to say thank you to my family and everyone else involved. Let’s bring on the season and give it everything.”

The 17-year-old competed in cars for the first time in 2020, racing in Italian F4 for PREMA.

Montoya finished 11th in the Championship and drove in ADAC F4 for six rounds.

2021 saw the Colombian finish 4th in Italian F4, taking nine podiums and two pole positions.

For 2022, Montoya competed in the Formula Regional Asian Championship prior to the European campaign.

The 17-year-old won twice in Asia and enjoyed three podium finishes before finishing 13th in the the Formula Regional European Championship.

Alongside his single seater commitments, Montoya also raced in the LMP2 category of the IMSA SportsCar Championship for three rounds.

This year, Hitech’s new recruit is racing in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship before the FIA F3 season gets underway.

The Colombian will be joined at Hitech Grand Prix by Italian driver Gabriele Mini.
