Ahead of this weekend’s first W Series round in Miami, we thought it would be the perfect time to catch up with our Spanish superstar, Nerea Martí.

Have you set any goals and expectations for this season? 

To be honest I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself in terms of results, I’ve worked a lot during the preseason obviously I want to win but the goal is to be constant in each race and give my best at all times

You had a great season last year, where are you looking to improve and build on that this season? What did you learn to apply to this campaign?

Last year I learned a lot, it’s been a long time since the last race in Austin. I have improved a lot in many ways that will be positive for this year. I really want to start the season.

You are racing with a new team, how has it been working with them and is it all new faces or did you know and work with some of the personnel in the past?

The team and guys are amazing. They support us a lot. It’s nice to work with Belen and we really think we make a good team together.

There are some new venues this season, brand new circuits and maybe some that you have not raced on. Which are you looking forward too the most and why?

I’m really looking forward to Miami, it’s a super event but also to Barcelona because we’re racing at home… honestly I like all the circuits this year.

Are you excited to be racing alongside Formula One on the Grand Prix weekend, how do you think that benefits you, the series and the other drivers?

It is super exciting to go with Formula 1 and a great opportunity, we have a lot of visibility and we are in the environment we want to be in the future, so yeah it’s amazing!
