Williams Racing test driver Roy Nissany declared himself “pretty satisfied” after two days of testing with Charouz Racing System at the FIA Formula 2 post season test in Abu Dhabi.
“The test is going pretty well,” said Nissany, 27, who added “I enjoy the car, there are some differences, but its just about different ways for the same target.”
The Israeli driver is preparing for a fifth season in F2, having previously driven for Campos, Trident and DAMS, having so far achieved a best of third place at Monaco in 2021.
“By the end of the second day, I feel very confident in the car, I enjoy it very much in the long runs and even for the shorts we were able to put in some good performance.”
Despite an engine issue in the afternoon, Nissany’s best lap of 1:36.352 was good enough for seventh fastest on Day 2 of testing, which was topped by Jack Doohan of Virtuosi.
“Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with these two days and tomorrow (Friday) will be even more interesting,” said the 27-year-old.
Nissany finished his two years with DAMS on a positive note, scoring in both races at the final round in Abu Dhabi, a period the Israeli said “taught him a lot”.
Nissany’s 2022 was eventful, seeing him throw away a potential maiden win, cause a frightening accident and miss an event with a race ban.
