Trident’s Clément Novalak was hopeful that their pace will improve in the Sprint Race as he aimed to replicate last year’s results following a challenging Qualifying session.
The French driver reminisced about his previous race in Catalunya as he shared his prospects for Saturday immediately after Qualifying, speaking with insideF2’s Jim Kimberley:
“Hopefully the performance on the long run is better than, than qualifying and we can make it through the field like we did last year.
I had a similar sort of incident, last year in qualifying. Both me and Felipe had a pretty shocking qualifying and we both came through to, I think he won and then I finished 4th and 5th last year.”
Regarding whether the new circuit alterations would assist his overtaking mission, Novalak couldn’t be certain. The final sector underwent modifications, eliminating the chicane, instead featuring the outside layout with two high-speed corners.
“And the fact that both corners aren’t really flat or easily flat, hopefully doesn’t make it even more challenging because it was already quite difficult.”
