FIA Formula 2 returns this weekend in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for Round 2 of the 2024 Championship.
ART Grand Prix’s Zak O’Sullivan had an impressive start to his Formula 2 career, outperforming his more experienced and highly regarded championship rival Victor Martins in all sessions last time out in Bahrain.
In a discussion with InsideF2 on Wednesday, Zak shared his expectations for the upcoming weekend in Jeddah and discussed whether he could apply any knowledge gained from Bahrain to this round as he gears up for his debut race at the Jeddah Circuit.
“It’s very different from Bahrain, of course, which is a bit of an outlier with its abrasive surface. There are some aspects I can take from Bahrain as it was my first F2 race, so there’s plenty of information and insights to consider.”
“In terms of driving techniques, Jeddah is a very different circuit, with high speed and high grip, so there isn’t really much to carry through into this week.”
Zak is hopeful that experience in Saudi Arabia isn’t a prerequisite for success and that he can leverage his speed to secure more points, aiming to convert a strong performance in Bahrain into a podium finish or even a win.
