Ed Pearson will step up to GB3 with Fortec Motorsport after a strong rookie season in British F4 last year.

The British driver finished 12th in the championship and scored two top-five finishes at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit, his best results of the season.

Pearson will team up with Max Esterson and Jarrod Waberski and is delighted to be joining the Northamptonshire-based team.

The 16-year-old said to gb-3.net: “I am really looking forward to joining such a prestigious team; Fortec bring a higher level of engineering to the car set up than I have experienced in the past, I am really excited by the possibilities!”

Fortec Motorsport Team Manager Oliver Dutton is pleased to have Pearson join Fortec and praised his meteoric ascent from karting to GB3.

Dutton added: “We’re really pleased to complete our GB3 line-up with Edward.

“He’s certainly not afraid of a challenge, his rapid rise from karting to GB3 through Ginetta Junior and F4 is testament to that, and he’s shown encouraging signs of being a driver with plenty of potential, given that his results have constantly improved as the last two seasons have gone on.

“We look forward to working with him to further extract that potential, and are confident that he can be right in the mix with what’s going to be a very strong grid throughout the year.”

The eight-round season kicks off on the 8-10 April at Oulton Park. It also includes trips to the infamous Spa-Francorchamps and a first-ever event for the series at Zandvoort.
