Penalties Imposed on Two Drivers Following Quali in Silverstone

Maloney ‘Really Looking Forward’ to Racing in Jeddah

After the completion of Formula 2 Qualifying at Silverstone, there have been grid penalties imposed on two drivers.

Zane Maloney has incurred two separate three-place grid penalties. A post-qualifying investigation revealed that Maloney impeded Théo Pourchaire’s ART Grand Prix car at Turn 11.

The stewards concluded that Maloney unnecessarily obstructed the French driver during a crucial lap, warranting a three-place grid demotion.

Furthermore, Maloney was found to have impeded Jack Doohan during the session, this time at Turn 9, leading to an additional three-place grid penalty.

Consequently, these two penalties have forced Maloney’s position on the grid to plummet from 4th to 10th for the upcoming race on Saturday.

MP’s Dennis Hauger has also received a grid penalty subsequent to Qualifying following a double waved yellow displayed at Turn 4. Hauger failed to abort his push lap, and thus recieving a five-place grid penalty on Hauger for the Sprint Race. He will now start the Sprint Race from the 19th spot on the grid.
