The first breaking news from FIA Formula 2 ahead of round 3 is that we will have a driver change as Gianluca Petecof announces he won’t be making the trip to Baku with the Campos Racing team.
This comes as bad news for Brazilian motorsport fans as the popular Petecof did not reach a financial agreement with the Spanish team Campos, and therefore, is out of Formula 2’s third weekend in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The 18-year-old, just last week, was very pessimistic about his future when speaking to Brazilian journalist Lito Cavalcanti, “the reality is that I may not race in Baku”.
After a few days of negotiation, the two parties, Petecof’s staff, and Campos were unable to come to an agreement financially.
This means Campos will now look elsewhere for both a new driver and further funding for the team in 2021.
Fala pessoal!
