After todays eventful Feature Race, Fornaroli managed to finish P2 having dropping a place from the restart for a shortened race following the drama in turn one, where 7 cars crashed and did not finish.

Fornaroli expressed his luck in the big accident in turn one, narrowly missing the pile up of cars and taking the lead of the race, which lead him to start P1 in the rolling start half an hour later in which he highlighted how he felt “good with the car” and managed his tyres well, however felt his luck ran out come the safety car release, expressing his disappointment that it “took a whole lap to put the safety car out”.

He then went onto say “I tried to slow down also before the pit entry but I can’t go 1 KPH and also I didn’t want to get any penalties and we just got the safety car in turn one or approaching turn one so nothing we can do about it. It’s very disappointing but because it’s still great result good points and uh we we move on.”

Fornaroli the went on to discuss just how important his pit stop was after he recognised how he got caught in traffic last weekend in Imola and as a result lost three positions so was veery eager to emerge in front of his competitors to not have a repeat of last weekend, and doing so narrowly missed a collision with the safety car parked at the end of the pitlane and came out just behind Jak Crawford.

Following his result in P2, he conveyed that whilst he saw it as a good result following Imola and still remaining in the top three in the championship he said ” it’s nice to have good points now and now I will try my best to achieve also other good results in uh Barcelona”.
