PREMA confident

Formula 2 returns this weekend with the second of the back to back race’s at Great Britain’s iconic Silverstone circuit.

The team had a disappointing weekend compared to the high standard’s they had set in the first three rounds of the championship.

Despite the race being at the same venue the team will hope that the change in Pirelli rubber will help. The Hard compound will be brought in and paired with the soft to create an interesting long and short stint split on strategy across the grid.

The winning formula for last year’s Feature Race was Luca Ghiotto’s, it saw him start on the Soft for an initial 7 Lap stint and the complete the remaining 22 laps on the hard to secure a race win from second on the grid.

Last week saw both Prema drivers struggle with tyre degradation over the whole weekend which meant that current championship Leader Robert Shwartzman lost a chance to extend his lead and therefore allowed the group to close the gap.

The Italian team seem positive ahead of this week’s race and hope that the change in compound will work with the car and drivers.

Rene Rosin, Team principal said, “Last weekend hasn’t been easy, but we are confident that we can make the most out of the information we have and try and turn things around. We are taking away a good podium finish with Mick which highlighted what was possible by fully exploiting our potential, and we will work as hard as possible to be in full shape when the moment comes.”
