PREMA in good form ahead of Silverstone
PREMA Racing will be heading to the home of British Motorsport when the Italian squad line up in Silverstone for the third round of the Formula 2 championship.
The historical 5.9-kilometre venue, home of the Formula 1 Great British Grand Prix, will host two events in two weeks to help make up rounds.
The highly competitive pairing of Robert Shwartzman and Mick Schumacher, who are both supported by the Ferrari Driver Academy, will represent the Italian squad.
The Russian of Shwartzman is coming from two feature race wins in a row and he is currently leading the driver standings with a surprising margin considering he is at the beginning of his rookie season.
Schumacher was just as impressive despite some unfortunate circumstances in the opening rounds of the season. He managed to rebound with a double podium in Hungary, the only driver in the field to have accomplished that feat. He sits fourth in the championship points with great expectations for the upcoming events on a classic circuit.
Rene Rosin, the team principal of PREMA, said:
“The 2020 season is going by incredibly fast. In two weeks, we will continue round four and five, entering the second half of the 2020 FIA F2 season. Staying on top at Silverstone after our positive start will be key in terms of shaping up the outcome of the year, so we are determined to keep up our guard to carry on with this momentum.”
In addition to its fame, the Silverstone track provides a thrilling mix of variables ranging from different types of corners, grip conditions and weather concerns.
PREMA Racing is well aware of the importance of the trip to Britain where the 2020 series will continue.
