Prema know the value of success
PREMA Racing will be looking to extend their lead in the Teams championship this weekend as they embark on another home race weekend.
The challenge for all of the FIA Formula 2 teams this weekend is not only the high speed circuit, the tight corners, or even the DRS zone into Turn 1, but the fact that no team has done any testing here and many of the drivers have no prior experience.
This combination of factors will without doubt be the most interesting factor for the race fan at least. The team however will be looking to build on the performance and pace they have shown all season to continue to build on their lead in the standings.
Unlike those other drivers both Schumacher and Shwartzman have raced at Mugello before in F4, but Formula 2 will prove to be a whole new challenge for them.
Both the Russian and German drivers are in great form in 2020 as they both sit second and third in the standings personally. With Schumacher really impressing everyone with his consistency and now has a race win under his belt as a reward.
The potential will be there, and a good result at Mugello will help to get the right momentum and shape up the final stint of the season.
PREMA Team Principle Rene Rosin understands the importance of the weekend for all involved,
“Racing at Mugello will be a challenging experience for everybody, but I think we showed our potential at Monza. We need to stay as close to the front as possible with both our drivers. We can’t afford to lose points at this stage of the championship as it is expected to go down to the wire, and as it progresses, mistakes become increasingly costly.”
