PREMAPREMA looking to get back into action in Austria

Team Principal of PREMA Racing Rene Rosin believes that Round 8 of the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship provides his team with an excellent opportunity to rebound from a difficult Round 7.

Round 7 at Silverstone was less than optimal for the PREMA team, as Jehan Daruvala finished a best of 7th in the feature race, and scored the team’s only points of the weekend with 1 in the Sprint Race, and 6 in the Feature Race.

Teammate Dennis Hauger would be involved in a crash on Lap 1, where he would go airborne and collide with Roy Nissany.  Hauger stated: “It just has been a disappointing weekend overall. We will try to come back stronger in Austria”

Daruvala would go on to say after the Feature Race that he thought he, “could have finished P6 but nothing better considering the pace of the cars out front and where we started (P10).”

Looking ahead to Austria, Rosin says: “After the difficult weekend we had in Silverstone we hope to regroup at Red Bull Ring, a track we know well from all our junior single-seater experience.”

In terms of where Rosin says he is confident in the PREMA team for this weekend: “I think we have the focus needed to rebound and get back to the form, we had before. Both Dennis and Jehan showed winning potential, and we are sure we haven’t lost it.”

“We will stick to the basics and regroup, so we can be
competitive with both cars once again and get towards the front
as early as possible”

PREMA has had a very inconsistent season, with Dennis Hauger winning the Feature Race in Round 6 at Azerbaijan, but only scoring points in three of the other six rounds.

Daruvala has been slightly more consistent than his counterpart, scoring in every round so far, and currently sitting 4th in the Drivers’ standings.
