Prema Suffer in Qualifying
Prema suffered during qualifying in Bahrain as Formula 2 got underway for the 11th round of the Formula 2 season.
The drivers finally got back on track after unexpected rainfall hit Al Sakhir in the morning.
After two disruptions for red flags, Mick Schumacher finished qualifying 10th while his teammate Robert Shwartzman will start the race four places behind him.
Mick Schumacher said:
“Qualifying today did not go as we had wished for it to happen, unfortunately, so we cannot be totally satisfied. When I went out with my second set of tyres, we had made a small adjustment to the car which did not bring us what we had expected, and also I did not get the perfect lap together. We will have a deep dive into our data in order to develop a good basis and plan for tomorrow’s race when I will give it my all. I know we will fight as best as we can.”
Robert Shwartzman said:
“It was not a good qualifying at all for us. Generally, the feeling with the car is just not there, and we can’t seem to understand the issue. There is simply no grip, and the car feels uncomfortable and nervous to drive. What I had expected to improve, just did not really improve. We need to work within the team to figure out where the issue is. I hope we will understand it as quick as possible to find time and speed.”
Both Prema drivers had trouble extracting the maximum from their cars in qualifying which they will be hoping to have gotten to grips with by the Feature Race.
