The FIA Formula 2 teams and drivers have all completed three days of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona. PREMA Racing and Ferrari Acadamy driver Robert Shwartzman completed a full schedule in the Spanish sun.
The 21-year-old Russian had prior experience at the track following his 2020 season.
Robert, however, didn’t top the timesheets overall but will certainly look to take the positives out of the time on track.
“The race pace was good and I think we are quite strong there. I’m also happy with the race management, and the simulation was very positive. The starts were mixed, the grip level was pretty low but we definitely made some good ones and the start management was good as well.”
It was not all positive for Shwartzman though as he looked to fine-tune his race starts.
“The main issue was the qualifying pace which was still not good enough for me. I need to understand what is going on and the reasons we couldn’t manage better lap times in the performance runs. ”
Now his and all of the F2 drivers’ focus will switch to the next round in Monte Carlo.
“So the focus is on qualifying. The next race is in Monaco and it’s very important to have a proper qualifying there.”
We can not wait to see everyone back on track in the famed Principality on the 21st and 22nd of May.
