PREMA Racing is ready to go for the second part of the FIA Formula 2 triple-header and the second race in succession at the Red Bull Ring.
The championship and the motorsport world is all set for the second leg of the double circuit format for 2020. This is the first time in not only Formula 2 history but also Formula 1 history that we are scheduled over two consecutive weekends at the same venue.
The entire roadshow faced the unfamiliar position of not having to unpack everything last week and just taking the Sunday night off.
It was a mixed bag for the Italian team in Round 1 as they had plenty to improve on but the obvious highlight was Shwartzmans’ podium on his debut.
The Russian driver has been tipped for big things this year and how it will impact his teammate Mick Schumacher is yet to be seen. The German has a little more pressure on him as he looks to follow his debut season with a solid haul of points to position himself for a possible Formula 1 seat in 2021 or 2022.
Team Principal, Rene Rosin was happy with last weekend and looks ahead to the challenges ahead for Round 2.
The opening round of 2020 showed that we are clearly on the right path and there is great potential to build on. It is refreshing to be back battling at the top of the FIA Formula 2 Championship and we cannot wait to do it all again. For sure, being at the same track for the second straight weekend will be a bit unusual and certainly unique. However, the most unique experiences are also the most rewarding and valuable in terms of learning and thinking outside the box. We are looking forward to seeing Mick and Robert continue the brilliant work they started last weekend.
