Leaving the round in Austria dissatisfied, PREMA Racing is ready to continue its busy summer stint in the Paul Ricard circuit with a chance to perform to its fullest.
The weekend in Spielberg could’ve been more to both Jehan Daruvala and Dennis Hauger. Unfortunately for the Indian driver, he had to give the second place trophy away after receiving a 20 seconds penalty for attempting to dry the track surface, which promoted his teammate to fourth in the Feature Race.
The pair also missed an opportunity to finish inside the points-paying position in Saturday’s Sprint Race, despite a great recovery drive from Hauger to make up six places to finish ninth.
Even though the Norwegian collected 12 points, it’s still not enough for the team to enter the top three in the standings.
Looking at misfortunes from the season so far, Team Principal Rene Rosin admits the struggle as they aim for a strong comeback in France.
He stated, “We are working as hard as possible to get back to our full potential, and we are looking forward to being on track in Formula 2 at Circuit Paul Ricard.
“The series has been up and down for us this year, and we are giving our 100 percent to retain and build on the positives to get where we belong with both Jehan and Dennis.”
Both drivers have great memories of the French track, as Hauger earned two second-place trophies last year, while Daruvala proudly took the win in 2019 with a third-place podium on the same weekend.
Moreover, they look forward to the new challenge as this will be their first time driving around the circuit surrounded by the iconic blue and red runoff areas with Formula 2 machinery.
