Trident Team Manager Giacomo Ricci wants his drivers to be ready to play their game to the finest at the Round 7 of FIA Formula 2 championship.
Ricci is tasking his drivers Richard Verschoor and Calan Williams with continuing their positive trend and improving their championship positions.
Dutchman Verschoor, 21, won the opening race of the season in Bahrain for the team, but since then it has been slim pickings for the Italian team, with only one further podium finish.
Aussie rookie Williams has struggled for points scoring form, with just a fourth place in Jeddah his only scoring result but showed pace on occasions.
Despite that, Ricci said: “The data tells us that our performance definitely improved compared to 2021.
“The championship is entering a key moment, with four races to be held in only one month. We want to be ready to play our game to the finest and start this demanding series of races in the best possible way.”
Former MP Motorsport and Charouz Racing System driver Verschoor ended a run of seven races without points by scoring fifth in the Baku Feature Race and wants to regain his early-season form, which brought three top five finishes in the first four races, to boost him from 11th in the standings.
21-year-old Williams currently sits 19th in the drivers’ standings, while the team are eighth in the teams’ championship ahead of DAMS, Campos, and VAR.
