Roy Nissany scored his first FIA Formula 2 podium in Monaco with DAMS following a positive weekend for the team.
The 26 years old driver managed to finish third in the first Sprint Race as he collected 10 points and an extra two points after having finished ninth in the Feature Race.
He climbed his way up to third as one of the podium finishers from seventh position on the starting grid.
It means the world for Roy to arrive on the podium, and he believed that it was the hard work behind his journey to achieve it that made the difference.
Managing Director François Sicard explained how Monaco lived up to their expectations.
“It was great to see Roy scoring points in two out of three races and to take his first podium. He’s been working really hard, so this is a deserved reward for all his effort with us.”
“We’ve definitely got what it takes to compete. Roy showed that we have the potential to be up there, so we have to be confident for the coming events.”
Nissany explained how the team deserved to be inside the top three with a fantastic amount of hard work.
“To be on the podium was a mega feeling. We worked really hard for this result in the simulator and with the engineers.”
“I was pleased to score more points in the Feature Race, and we’ll be working hard before the next event to improve our pace further to fight for more points.”
Moving on to Baku, the DAMS driver set his targets high with the team aiming to score big again.
“I’m looking forward to Baku, it’s one of my favourite tracks, so hopefully, we can have another positive weekend.”
