Sean Gelael has missed the Formula 2 Sprint Race at the Circuit de Catalunya!
During Saturday’s Feature Race the Indonesian had an incident with Campos driver Jack Aitken, that caused a D4 vertebrae fracture.
Gelael pulled off the track, complaining about his back, and had to be extracted from his car after the medical car was deployed.
The team Tweeted:

The DAMS driver was transferred to Barcelona hospital for x-rays and an MRI scan.
He returned to his hotel on Saturday evening and reported to be “fine.”
The team will confirm later if Gelael is to attend the meeting at Spa-Francorchamps.
Gelael addressed his Instagram followers this morning, stating:
Thanks for all the kind messages. I’m all ok, I have a D4 mid spine fracture, We will wait to see what the future will bring. Thank you.

Team Manager, François Sicard, said:
Of course, we are relieved that Sean is okay after his incident, although he had to miss the Sprint Race and will be resting which is the priority. It’s never a good thing when your driver gets injured, but it could have been a lot worse. We wish him a speedy recovery.
